Asia Snr. Regional Manager Doreen Lee went from injured and immobile to Level 2 rock climbing through natural care and “Posture Around the Clock” as her tool. After suffering from two slipped discs in 2016, Doreen was told she could not participate in many sporting activities, including swimming. But after discovering rock climbing in 2017, Doreen quickly realized the sport could be beneficial for her back.
“After overcoming the initial fear of heights, I began to enjoy the sport and was able to climb more difficult routes. As such, my core strength improved tremendously and was able to exercise regularly without back pain,” Doreen said. “Dr. Boon See, the physiotherapist also noticed that my gluteus muscles had developed over the months and is helping to provide better support for my lumbar area.”
In just a year’s time, Doreen has completed the Singapore National Climbing Standards (SNCS) Level 1 by Singapore Mountaineering Federation, completed both 5K and 10K competitive runs, and embarked on her first outdoor climb in Hong Kong. She also graduated in SNCS (Lead Climbing) Level 2 just a few weeks ago. Congratulations Doreen!
