Today, BackJoy is an international company with distribution in more than 40 countries.  While I say that with great pride, it also feels good when we get accolades right here in our own backyard.  This month, BackJoy was honored with the 2015 Colorado Companies to Watch award.  This award recognizes second stage companies that develop valuable products and services, create quality jobs, enrich communities, and create new industries throughout the state.

Colorado, and particularly Boulder, has often been referred to as America’s Startup Capital.  While many companies have their roots here, the early years for any company is challenging and few companies make it past the initial startup stage.  It doesn’t always feel like we can call ourselves successful (and there is a long way to go before we’ve accomplished our mission), but receiving this award allows me to reflect back when BackJoy was little more than a business plan. IMG_2900

What has taken the company from merely a plan on a piece of paper to being a successful business that has helped more than 2.5 million people is the passion all of our employees have and our common goal to fix the way the world sits, stands, sleeps and moves.  It is an honor to be recognized with this prestigious title, and it makes us even more determined to find innovative ways to help every individual sit, stand, sleep and move better, and thus lead healthier, fuller lives.

I love my Back Joy. I have not taken it out of my car since I got it. It has traveled over 10,000 miles with me. It even cured some back pain I was having from heavy lifting, then I had an 8 hour car trip and felt great when I arrived. Thanks Rachael Hollingsworth!
